Our history
Lean Institute Brasil was founded in 1998 by José Roberto Ferro, a researcher who was part of the MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) team behind the international studies that coined the term lean and spread it around the world.
From the start, LIB was connected to the global avant-garde movement that brought the experience of the Toyota Production System closer to the real management challenges faced by companies in different countries. As pioneers of the approach in Brazil, we committed to translating and developing these principles for the Brazilian socioeconomic and cultural reality.
Over more than 28 years, we have helped transform hundreds of organizations in strategic sectors such as manufacturing, healthcare, services, agribusiness, construction, logistics, digital technology and other management contexts.
Along this journey, knowledge has been built in constant contact with real problems. This relationship between experience, reflection and practice continues to shape LIB’s identity.
