Frequently asked questions about the Lean Training Program

The Lean Practical Training Program (PPFL) is an intensive program that combines objective theory with applied practice, focused on delivering concrete results from the very first modules. It develops professionals in the conceptual, technical and behavioral dimensions of the lean methodology, combining classes with the implementation of a real project at the participant's company.

The program is aimed at leaders and professionals who act as change agents in their companies. The Manufacturing class is ideal for industrial directors, plant managers, production/process engineers and shop-floor supervisors. The Services class is designed for product managers, back-office leaders (HR, Finance, Procurement, IT), customer service coordinators, hospital managers, and innovation and agile team leaders.

The program lasts about 4 months on average. The Manufacturing class totals 112 to 120 hours, while the Services class covers 114 hours.

The format is hybrid in an online environment. The program combines synchronous online classes (live sessions with the instructors) and asynchronous e-learning classes (recorded materials and resources on the platform).

Yes. From the 2nd month (or the 3rd week, depending on the class), participants start structuring a hands-on application project (A3). The project is always tied to solving a real problem in the participant's own business environment and operation.

“A3 Thinking” is the lean way of solving complex problems using the scientific method. It is the structural methodological foundation of the program. The final assignment is precisely the development, presentation and approval of a real A3 Project that delivers significant results for the participant's company.

Yes. Participants who pass receive the Lean Specialist certificate. To be certified, you must meet four criteria: 75% attendance, pass the knowledge assessment, develop the real project and, finally, present it and have it approved by the instructors.

The Manufacturing class focuses on plant stability and manufacturing: lean production, shop-floor workflow optimization, quick changeover methods (SMED) and productive maintenance. The Services class covers administrative, support and healthcare areas, focusing on lean office, information flow mapping, service journeys, service design and integrating lean with Agile methodologies and Artificial Intelligence.

The recommended knowledge level is Intermediate (some exposure, wants to go deeper). Participants need an intermediate level of corporate or industrial experience to develop and implement the hands-on project focused on solving a real bottleneck in their gemba (workplace) during the program.

Yes. The program includes fully individualized project guidance. Each participant has one-on-one meetings with a dedicated Lean Institute Brasil consultant/mentor to discuss and steer the development of the final project.

Yes. The LeanLearning digital platform serves as the support environment, and all recordings of the asynchronous classes, materials and practical guides remain available on the platform for up to 6 months after the program ends.

Payment can be made by bank slip (boleto, up to 6 interest-free installments), PIX, bank deposit or credit card (up to 6 interest-free installments).

Yes. The Institute offers an exclusive 15% discount starting at 4 joint registrations. Companies that want to standardize knowledge across their whole team can also hire the program in an in-company format, where the experts use the plant's/company's own problems and indicators as a learning lab.

Yes. From the 3rd week of the program, participants can choose to deepen their training with the Advanced Certification (CA). Three options are available: Healthcare Management and Patient Journey, Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence, or Supply Chain & Logistics. These certifications require an A3 project focused on the chosen area, include 3 days of in-person hands-on immersion and have an additional fee.

Admission to the program takes three steps. First, the candidate fills out the form to start registration on the website. Next comes a profile review, in which the LIB team assesses the candidate's professional moment to ensure they get the most out of the course. Finally, enrollment and onboarding take place, with payment and access to the pre-course materials.
